University of the South Pacific (USP)
Founded in 1968, the University of the South Pacific’s Laucala campus sits on the coast in the capital city of Suva. USP is surrounded by natural wonders nestled in the nearby mountains with lush tropical forests complementing a culturally vibrant and historic university city. USP’s students are able to blend academics and hands-on practical learning. From diving in reefs off the coast to software programing, USP offers academic opportunities to diversify your experience abroad.
All courses will be instructed in English. Fiji has a unique blend of Fijian, Indian, and English in daily usage. English is the common spoken language for the bigger cities in use for business, government, and trade. There is also Fiji English as well.
The College Consortium for International Studies (CCIS), a partnership of colleges and universities—two and four year, large and small, public and private, domestic and foreign—encompasses the broad spectrum of international higher education. CCIS members sponsor a variety of programs, notably study abroad programs and professional development seminars for faculty and administrators, which are designed to enhance international/intercultural perspectives within the academic community.
